Absence Reporting
While we emphasise that high attendance is closely linked to great achievement at school, and we always encourage students to show resilience and attend school whenever they can or are only suffering with a minor illness, we understand that sometimes sickness or emergency absence is unavoidable!
Reporting an absence
Parents and carers are required to notify the school of any absence, for every day of their child’s absence. Please call the academy on 020 7622 0026 and select the option to speak to the attendance team.
Please call by 8:15am on the day of the absence.
Our school’s attendance officer will decide whether the absence is authorised or not. If your child is not present in school and you do not notify us, we will make contact to find out why your child is not in school.
Requesting a special leave of absence
If you wish to request a special leave of absence, for example to attend a funeral or urgent medical appointment, you will need to fill in an absence request form which you can download below:
SPECIAL LEAVE OF ABSENCE APPLICATION FORM
Paper copies of this form are available from Reception.
This must be completed well in advance and returned either by email to attendance@harrisbattersea.org.uk OR in person to the Academy via Reception. The final decision whether to approve will be made by Principal.
Harris Academy Battersea does not authorise any holidays taken during term time under any circumstances and this will be recorded as unauthorised.
