Year 10 Learn About NHS Nursing Careers

Thirty students from Year 10 took part in a two-hour workshop, supported by NHS nursing ambassadors, aimed at informing young people about the amazing opportunities that a nursing career can offer and dispelling the myths around the nursing sector.

During the workshop, students got to interact virtually with nurses within different specialities, in different parts of the UK, and at different points in their careers.

Students particularly enjoyed finding out about the variety nursing can offer, including mental health nursing. They were similarly surprised to hear how nursing is the UK’s most employable type of degree.

It served as a great opportunity for students to gain knowledge and get a better understanding of what this career could offer, beyond their original perception.
