Our Y9 Debate Mate Club achieved fantastic success in their Pitch Project. They showed a fantastic growth in confidence, and presented with clarity and composure, sharing a range of thoughtful ideas. National Poetry Day Competition Winners

Logo no dateLast half term we held a poetry writing competition open to all students in the academy, to mark National Poetry Day.

The standard of entries was very high, and we thoroughly enjoyed reading the thoughtful and sensitive work the students produced.  Well done to everyone who entered! Our overall winners, who both won £20 Amazon vouchers, were:

  • Key Stage 4/5: Kayleigh,  Year 11
  • Key Stage 3: Suweyda, Year 9

Top three runners-up were:

  • Julia, Year 9
  • Yaj, Year 7
  • Nihad, Year 9

Students were inspired by the work of poets they have been reading at school including Maya Angelou, Jackie Kay, Robert Seatter and Dean Atta.
