Year 12 Scientists have a glimpse of University Life at Imperial
Year 12 students had the opportunity to visit Imperial University last week for a spectroscopy workshop.
PhD and post-graduate students from the University led our budding scientists through a number of problem solving activities and they were fortunate enough to be allowed to use an infra-red spectrometer; a chemical analysis piece of equipment usually reserved for those undertaking Chemistry at University.
Chemistry Teacher Mr Johnston said, “The students were fantastic ambassadors for the school, showed great curiosity on the day and were full of insightful questions about university life, applications to university and what they should apply for. This was a real success for the students and gave them a clear view of what university life is like at one of the best institutions in the world”.
