French Culture Club Learn about the French World

French Culture Club is a chance to learn about the French world and explore French culture. Below is one of the posters made by students at the club this term.


How much do you know about the French world and culture?

Le français est une langue parlée dans le monde entier. C'est la cinquième langue la plus parlée au monde, avec 220 millions de personnes parlant dans le monde. Dans ce PowerPoint, nous allons découvrir le monde français et sa culture.

French is a language that is spoken around the globe. It is the fifth most spoken language in the world, with 220 million people speaking worldwide. on this page, we will find out about the French world and its culture.

How French originated

Les origines de la langue française remontent à l'introduction du latin par les Romains chez les habitants de langue celtique de la Gaule. Le développement clé suivant s'est produit après l'arrivée des Francs au Ve siècle, dont la langue germanique a influencé le latin parlé local («vulgaire» ou latin commun). 29 pays parlent le français, et on l'apprend aussi dans les écoles aujourd'hui.

The origins of the French language can be traced back to the Romans' introduction of Latin to the Celtic-speaking inhabitants of Gaul.
