Wandsworth Football League Finale
The Wandsworth Football League culminated with an exciting game for our Year 7 team this week.
Despite battling changeable weather the boys focussed and played a strong game. After a few good chances in attack Jeremy scored to bring it to 1:1. Within seconds Joel scored with a fantastic shot taking it to 2:1. The teams’ confidence grew and Rio placed another great shot in the back of the net taking the score to 3:1.
The opposing team faught back and within in very short space of time they equallised. Undeterred our boys picked upt the pace again, working hard to create chances, two of which were executed by Rio towards the end of the match.
The final score was 5:3 to us. PE Teacher Miss Masterman said, “In the Wandsworth League this season we have won 3 games and lost 3 games and are waiting on the results from other games to see where we finish overall, but it has been a really positive season for the boys for their first year working together as a team and I am incredibly proud of all their hard work, determination and resilience. Well done to them all”.
