Local MP, Marsha de Cordova and CEO Polly Moore Visit HABS
The music department at HABS had the honour of hosting Marsha de Cordova, Local MP for Battersea, and Polly Moore, the CEO of Return the Music. The visit was an opportunity to showcase how the £20,000 investment in the music program has been put to good use.
The funding, which was allocated to enhance our music facilities and resources, has had a tremendous impact on the department, particularly in developing students' skills in playing violins and flutes. During their visit, both Marsha de Cordova and Polly Moore were given a first-hand look at the remarkable progress our students have made.
The visitors were not only impressed by the students' musical talents but were equally taken aback by the students' eloquence and enthusiasm when speaking about how the funding has helped them grow as musicians. They spoke passionately about how the investment in new instruments and resources has enabled them to improve their playing and deepen their love for music.
Marsha de Cordova praised the initiative, stating that it is fantastic to see how the funding is being used to nurture young talent and inspire creativity. Polly Moore echoed these sentiments, highlighting the importance of investing in the arts to foster well-rounded individuals.
The visit concluded with a short performance, where students demonstrated their progress and dedication. It was a proud moment for everyone involved, and a testament to the power of community support in shaping the future of our students.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Marsha de Cordova and Polly Moore for their time and for supporting the continued success of our music department. With such enthusiastic students and dedicated staff, we look forward to seeing even more growth in the future.
