Christie’s Visit for Year 9 Harris Experience Students

ChristiesOur new cohort of Year 9 Harris Experience students took part in our first event earlier this month, with our year-long partnership with Christies Auction House.

During this initial event of the programme, students visited Christie’s Education. Students were introduced to Art History through an interactive lecture on famous artists and movements.

Students then put their new-found understanding of art to the test by examining, drawing and valuing pieces of art work. Students certainly enjoyed this element of the trip and some of their own drawings of these objects were works of art in their own right!

The programme will continue next term with a visit to Christie’s art auction house where students will gain an appreciation of the ‘business of art’.
