Wandsworth Indoor Athletics – Year 7 & 8 - Report
Year 7 and 8 boys and girls competed in the Indoor Wandsworth Games on Thursday. Walking in, it was clear to see there was plenty of strong competition from the likes of Southfields and Ernest Bevin.
The first race was the obstacle relay for our Year 7 girls and they absolutely smashed it. They were far ahead in the race and finished in first place with ease.
Our Year 8 boys also managed to come 1st place in the 4 x 2 relay at the end of the day, which caused massive celebrations from the Battersea team.
There was success in the field events with two of our students winning in the shot putt and also the speed bounce. Omari is pictured competing, below.
Overall, our Year 8 boys managed a podium position and came third out of 10 teams. The rest of the teams did extremely well to pull together and use teamwork. They showed great resilience even when in a losing position and integrity when congratulating and clapping their opponents. Marianna runs a good race (pictured below).
A special mention to Gabriel and Josheima for completing their homework in between races (pictured below) so that it got to their teachers on time. Get integrity and knowledge shown!
Well done all.
