International Mother Language Day - HABS Enrichment Curriculum

This half term at Harris Battersea, we strove to deliver a stimulating enrichment programme. Our aim was to allow our students to learn about the world around them and be respectful global citizens who can thrive in our ever-changing world.

Each week as part of enrichment, we have celebrated a different calendar day through activities, assemblies, competitions and live events. This has also linked to our HABS values of Knowledge, Integrity and Resilience.

Staff speak their mother tongue

We kicked off the programme by celebrating ‘International Mother Language Day’. 14 members of staff recorded themselves speaking their mother language, sharing what their mother language means to them and their knowledge of it.

Pupils were amazed at how multilingual the staff at HABS are and how diverse we are as a school community. Please watch the film to see our staff and students proudly speaking in their mother language and sharing their cultural knowledge.
