Summer School 2022 - Report
Our summer school 2022 took place from 8th-12th August, with 51 students attending over the five days, with an average of 47 each day.
Small classes of no more than 12 covered subjects including maths, English, science, PE, art, personal development, Spanish, music and history. We also ran a workshop on resilience, which was presented by the NHS.
In English students were working on autobiographies and created their own pen portraits, for example, while in Science students designed and conducted their own experiments and then reported back their results to an audience of their peers and their tutors.
A dedicated SEND team supported every class to ease the transition and we held a celebration event on the Friday with plenty of certificates for students who demonstrated the Harris Academy Battersea core values of Knowledge, Integrity and Resilience throughout the week.
A trip to Go Ape on the Friday tested pupils’ resilience against the heights and the dreaded zip line!
