Biology Students use Imperial College Lab for Practicals

Year 12 Biologists had a full university lab experience at Imperial College London earlier in January. Students were led by full-time MSc and PhD students to help them complete two of their required A-level practicals using university equipment.

This included separating protein fragments using gel electrophoresis and identifying pain killers using TLC chromatography. Students accessed high-level content and practiced degree-level techniques that would not usually be rehearsed in a school lab.
