Year 7 Visit the Science Museum
The whole of Year 7 had a day at the Science Museum in January. Students had the opportunity to see exhibitions involving the engineering of flight, medicine and the human body, space exploration and cyber security.
Students enjoyed the labs where they were able to interact with a variety of scientific concepts – learning about themselves through genetics in the ‘Who Am I’ lab, or the air they breathe in the ‘Atmosphere’ lab, or even what future machines might look like in the ‘Engineer Your Future’ lab.
The ‘Wonderlab’ was a big hit! Students were able get practical by taking part in experiments, using slides to understand more about forces and discover more about our galaxy. There was also a science show which allowed our students to be immersed in an experience they haven’t had before.
The trip was a huge success and the science department is looking forward to the students displaying the knowledge they acquired in their time at the Science Museum.
