GCSE GEOGRAPHERS INVETIGATE THE EASTBOURNE COASTLINE
In October, 130 enthusiastic Year 11 GCSE Geographers conducted their fieldwork study to investigate the extent to which the coastal defences at Eastbourne Beach were effective. All students were successful in using the specialist equipment to measure the impact of the coastal defences. The students were particularly resilient in the face of some interchangeable weather and ensured they followed our in-class risk assessment to stay safe. Some students were lucky enough to spot several species of flora and fauna thriving on the man-made defences, demonstrating a key concept in Geography whereby the human and physical elements of our planet interact. It was a pleasure to watch the students develop confidence and leadership skills whilst working in small teams towards their shared goal. Well done to the full GCSE Geography cohort!
