Year 11 Students Go Global: A Lively Language Session at SOAS

Throughout the day, students engaged in interactive workshops and hands-on activities, diving into languages like Arabic, Chinese, and Swahili. Experienced SOAS instructors introduced them to the basics of each language, weaving in rich cultural contexts and real-world applications that made each lesson come alive. 

Beyond the language sessions, students also experienced taster lessons in diverse subjects such as global development, storytelling, and civil law, which gave them a real taste of university-level learning. They enjoyed a guided tour of SOAS’s vibrant campus, where they soaked up the unique atmosphere and got a glimpse of what university life could be like. By the journey home, our students were buzzing with ideas, inspired by the possibilities that lie ahead, and excitedly sharing their newfound goals for the future. It was truly an eye-opening experience that broadened their horizons and sparked fresh enthusiasm for language learning and academic exploration!
